I have tried two Sears dehumidifiers. They both gave out after three years. However they collected more water than this Wood dehumidifier. Also, on the Wood machine I have to jam the water pan back onto the unit. When it is full, it falls out slightly. It has never fit properly from day one, due to the flimsy plastic. It does collect water, but we'll see how long it lasts. I am still searching for a good dehumidifier.

Like the digital display (much better than Soleus product which I had before and only lasted 2 years); little noisy but fine for a basement; technical support good

I had to replace my 70 pint Frigidaire after one year of use due to loss of refrigerant. I decided to try a less expensive dehumidifier. The 55 pint Woods works great. I find myself emptying the large bucket twice a day and the dehumidifier does a good job of holding the humidity level to the desired setting. Hopefully I will get more than one year of use out of this one.

Ran constantly after first powering up-24 hours. Emptied the reservoir 2-3 times per day until the desired humidity was reached in basement. The fan is quiet and I plan to hook up a hose to floor drain soon. All in all it operates as well as or better than our Fedders model that it is replacing. We are pleased with the results.
Delivery was much quicker than anticipated- we ordered on a Sunday evening and received the unit 4 days later.
