First let me say that I love this range, BUT after I had it a few months I noticed rust spots all over it. I had the stainless replaced, but new rust spots appeared within two weeks. My husband took the old parts to the scrap yard and they were REJECTED as stainless steel because a magnet stuck to them.
I took a magnet off of my refrigerator and sure enough it stuck to my brand new parts, too.
Jenn air says they use high quality 304 stainless steel, but as a professional cook with 13 years experience, I know two things about stainless steel, it's not magnetic and it doesn't rust.
Jenn air accused me of using harsh cleansers and steel wool, but the only thing I've ever used to clean it is a dish rag with warm water and dawn. They also told me that not all stainless is "rust-proof."
The funny thing is that I have a jenn air hood to match my range which hasn't shown any rust. I also have a kithcenaid oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator (all stainless, and incidentally made by the same parent company, whirlpool) that have no rust either.
Jenn-Air told me they would replace the parts at my expense, but since it's still under warranty, I think I'll just keep having them replace the parts until they get the message. Plus, I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I will never but another Jenn-air product again.
