Comments about Sharp Sharp R930 25" Countertop Microwave Oven, Smart&Easy Sensor, Compu-Broil/Roast/Bake:

We have owned two of this model. The first one we had for a number of years without any problems. The second one the turn table, convection and microwave stopped working after (4) years. We decided not to have it repaired since the cost would have most likely been at least half the cost of a new one.

Great oven, love the convection cooking feature. You can cook a frozen pizza in this oven, which is why I bought it for my office.

Comments about Sharp Sharp R930 25" Countertop Microwave Oven, Smart&Easy Sensor, Compu-Broil/Roast/Bake:

This is our third one, which says something about reliability. However, it's a great convection / microwave oven. Super at baking things like cake. Does the best job ever in roasting a whole chicken or large turkey. Very crisp and juicy. Never had much luck with the temperature probe, which is supposed to cook a meat to a given temperature. Always says "Done" when the meat is only rare. I have never used the "broil" function. Only maintenance problem has been the temperature control, which has had problems in two of the ones we owned. Starts to run well below the set temperature, but only after several years of very hard use. Replacing the temperature sensor (an internal fix) has help. We use this daily for everything except pizza and things too large to fit into it. A great workhorse.

Service & Delivery comments:

Item was backordered, which I was told when I ordered it. It arrived right on schedule about 4 weeks later when they told me it would come in, and in great condition. Great company to order from.

Comments about Sharp Sharp R930 25" Countertop Microwave Oven, Smart&Easy Sensor, Compu-Broil/Roast/Bake:

I got the SS model, it looks modern and easy to clean. The 1.5 Cu. ft. size is great. A lot can fit in it. We had a Panasonic convection for 10 years and we like it a lot. When it broke, it was clear we would want the replacement to also be a convection - we don't own a regular oven. The Sharp 930 has not disappointed so far. We use it to heat up leftovers, preheat raw ingredients for stove top cooking. The main use is of course for light baking and reheating stuff that's best served hot and crisp on the outside. Things like dinner rolls, pizza, pies with flaky crusts, etc. We microwave to heat the stuff up, then we hit the convection button, choose a temp and time. We sit back. When the bell rings, we get hot and flaky yum yum that tastes like it's freshly baked. We love it! If you're interested in the convection part of the unit for a similar reason, you gotta buy this. If you just want a microwave, then get something cheaper.

Things that aren't so great about it: Can't think of any right now. Ok, got one: the fact it's not FREE?

Service & Delivery comments:

First, the worst part: delivery was not prompt. Product was on back order and no e-mail notices were sent. I only found out by calling them after two weeks had gone b.

The good: when I called customer service, they were very helpful and courteous in explaining the situation. They seem to be a "brick and mortar" store with a light Internet presence than the other way around. Anyway, it was a 4-5 week wait before the 930 finally arrived. It got here in good condition and it was well worth the wait for me. If you want a good deal and don't need the unit quickly, then Rainbow Appliance is the ticket; otherwise, go somewhere else.

Rainbow Appliance Response: Sharp had difficulties fulfilling orders across the board. All stores were affected.

We order a lot of microwaves and keep it in stock, but it took sharp months to fulfill the order for us as well as all other merchants.

Comments about Sharp Sharp R930 25" Countertop Microwave Oven, Smart&Easy Sensor, Compu-Broil/Roast/Bake:

I purchased this for my mother. She had the same one purchased in 1997 or 1998, and it just went out before Christmas. She LOVED it and said it's performance was great, it was user friendly, (she is currently 79 years old), it worked great and she used it for re-heating, defrosting, cooking. She used both convection and microwave settings. There was not one feature about it she did not like.

We have had this same model since August 1999. The themostate died and I figured it was time to get the next one.I told my wife to go get whatever she wanted with whatever bells and whistles she chose. She said she wanted another Sharp just like the one we had but couldn't find it in any of the stores she shops. I went on line & found Rainbow after several other web pages. [...]

Comments about Sharp Sharp R930 25" Countertop Microwave Oven, Smart&Easy Sensor, Compu-Broil/Roast/Bake:

In 1998 I purchased this exact same product. My turntable stopped working after 11 yrs(I exceeded the weight maximum with a turkey).
Accomdates a 14 x 8 inch pan. Breads bake even and rise higher than conventional oven. Pie crusts are tender, roasts are juicy. I never use my conventional oven (except for storing my pots and pans)
Nice to have one appliance on my counter for microwaving, broiling and baking. Love this product. Has stood the test of time.
