This vacuum was recommended in Consumer Reports as being the quietest, which is what I was looking for. Without a doubt IT CERTAINLY IS the quietest vacuum I've ever encountered!!! I can even vacuum at night without worry of disturbing others. It is also lightweight as well as powerful. I also like the power adjustment feature...great for cleaning drapes/blinds.
