Have 4 kids including a 9 month old. Was skeptical about it, but ordered one after being assured it worked.
Had to get it for our store as I told all of my family and friends about it.
Did not think it would actually work without detergent on soiled stuff.
Used to use lots of shout before sticking in the soiled stuff with the regular load.
Now i dont really need shout and have no need for detergent.
Have not tested it with set in stains. But once a stain sets in, its hard for anything to work and its more dependent on severity of stain how long it sets etc.

Well, first of all, our clothes are not heavy soiled. We do not have kids and we wear our clothes and wash them daily. So we cannot really tell if the cleaning ball will work on heavy soil. However, we are pretty satisfied for our daily basic cleaning usage. The clothes came out clean with no smell. Like in the instruction, heavy soil clothes requires a dash of detergent in order to clean them thoroughly.
It really helps us to cut down on the laundry detergent expense.
